1. AVNL 2026 CBT Exam Pattern & Marks Distribution
As stipulated under Clause 06 of the official recruitment notification, the written examination is conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode comprising ONE Objective-Multiple-Choice Paper of 100 Marks (100 Questions). The total allotted duration is 2 Hours (120 Minutes). The exam consists of two distinct parts:
- PART-A (50 Marks – General Paper): 50 Questions (1 mark each) covering General Awareness (10 Qs), General English (10 Qs), Quantitative Aptitude (10 Qs), Reasoning Ability (10 Qs), and Computer Aptitude (10 Qs). The difficulty level is up to 10th Standard for Junior Technicians and Graduate Level for Managerial posts.

2. AVNL Selection Process & Merit Weightage Criteria
As outlined in Clause 06(iv), 06(viii), and Clause 11, candidates qualifying the online CBT will be called for either a Trade Test or Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (Post : Candidates) in order of merit in each category:
The final selection merit list is based solely on the 100% weightage of the Written Examination (CBT) marks. Shortlisted candidates (1:3 ratio) must appear for a Trade Test (Practical) conducted at respective AVNL units (HVF Avadi, EFA Avadi, OFMK Medak, MTPF Ambernath), which is strictly Qualifying in Nature.
Selection merit is determined by a composite score: 85% weightage on the Written CBT Exam and 15% weightage on the Personal Interview (conducted for 50 marks assessing technical expertise, prior work experience, initiative, and problem-solving).
No written CBT examination is conducted. Engagement is finalized directly through assessment parameters (presentation, domain knowledge, specialized experience) and personal interview at AVNL Corporate Office, Avadi.
