5. Multi-Shift CBT Normalization Formula (Standard Deviation Method)

If the written examination (CBT) is conducted across multiple shifts, normalization of scores in the objective section is carried out using the Standard Deviation Method (calculated up to 5 decimal places) as prescribed in the official notice:

Normalized Mark (Mij) = [(Mgt - Mgq) / (Mti - Miq)] × (Mij - Miq) + Mgmq

Where Mij is the actual raw score obtained, Mgt is the average marks of top 0.1% candidates across all sessions, and Mgq is the sum of mean and standard deviation across all shifts.

6. What Next? Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) & Typing Speed Standards

Shortlisted candidates qualifying the written examination will be called for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT). This test is mandatory but purely qualifying in nature (marks do not count towards the final merit list):

CPT Component Duration & Marks Qualifying Standard Evaluation Criteria
Part-I: Spread Sheet Test 10 Minutes | 10 Marks 40% (4 Marks Minimum) Mandatory prerequisite for Part-II evaluation.
Part-II: Computer Typing Test in English 10 Minutes 30 Words Per Minute (W.P.M.) Calculated as: (No. of words typed − Mistakes) / 10
